Dance schools have long had the reputation of being strict, scary places where you get reprimanded for having a hair out of place but this is where PDA breaks the mould!
We strongly believe that in order to get the very best out of our dancers they need to firstly enjoy dance and secondly feel safe and relaxed in their environment. Our studio is a home-from-home for so many. We are blessed that many of our alumni frequently visit and turn up for one-off training just to be back "home".

A bit about us...
Platinum Dance Academy was created in 2010 by Lorna Thompson who recognised the lack of authentic Street Dance training in the area.
Classes quickly grew in popularity and we soon expanded into further genres that were not readily available in the area including contemporary dance and acro.
In 2012 we moved into our first premisis and continued to grow as a school.
Our dancers have competed all over the UK and at world championships in street dance, bringing home titles and trophies in teams, solos and duos.
We have also taken part in lots of performance opportunities including performing at the Silverstone F1 Grand Prix and at the o2 as well as many local theatres.
We regularly welcome outside professionals to come and lead workshops with our studio and always try to offer a "London studio experience" in rural Suffolk. Past workshop teachers include Josh Pilmore, Rhian Duncan, Ainsley Ricketts, Jazmine "Megajam" Meakin, Lukas Mcfarlane to name just a few. We even trained with Diversity at their studio!
When covid hit we turned to online classes, pre-recorded tutorials and outdoor classes. Despite the battles we faced we came out stronger and in 2021 we moved to a 10,000 sq ft building that we are now converting into a 3 studio premisis.
We now run over 40 classes a week and are continuing to add new and exciting dance forms to our timetable with our most recent addition being ballroom and latin.
The best thing about PDA is the atmosphere. Our classes are fun, friendly and creative. You really wont find another dance school like us. Everyone is always welcome and we cannot wait to get you started on your dance journey with us.
